Key Pharmaceuticals Overview

There are over 75 OTC products in the company's portfolio. The company is centrally located in Sydney and operates from a modern warehouse/office complex, which is owned by the Key Group and includes a Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) licensed packing facility. The group has been involved in the pharmaceutical business since 1901.

Capabilities

Distribution channels - Australia 

Key has the ability to distribute OTC products to pharmacies, supermarkets, health food stores and other retail outlets throughout Australia. In the pharmacy channel, Key Pharmaceuticals is ranked by IMS as No. 2 privately owned Australian company in OTC products, and No. 5 Australian-owned non-multinational company in OTC products. 

Distribution channels - New Zealand 

Key also has the ability to distribute OTC products in pharmacies, supermarkets and health food stores throughout New Zealand. 

Sales

A national sales team in Australia calls on pharmacies. This sales team has been rated by pharmacies as one of the best in Australia, according to independent market research conducted by Pharmacy Pulse. (See overall satisfaction rating in chart below)

Supermarket merchandising in Australia is outsourced. Key account management is handled by senior Key personnel. In New Zealand, a national sales team calls on supermarkets as well as pharmacies.

Marketing

Marketing personnel have both breadth and depth of health care marketing experience. 

Regulatory

All regulatory activities are handled in-house. All products comply with Australian and New Zealand requirements where applicable. 

Contract Manufacture

The company manages a broad range of contract manufacturing relationships including supply of components.

Packing

The company has an in-house packing facility which complies with TGA, GMP and ISO requirements. 

Release for sale 

All products are released for sale by in-house quality assurance staff.
