
What causes stomach ache?
Some of the common causes are:
- Stress and anxiety can cause the brain to send messages to the bowel which result in contraction of the muscles in the gastrointestinal tract.
- Eating fatty or deep fried take away food, consuming too much alcohol or caffeine.
- Skipping meals and eating on the run can upset the rhythm of peristalsis and cause cramps.
- Some people are more sensitive to spicy or acidic food.
- Changes in lifestyle or routine such as travel.
