Stomex

Stomex is a tablet which contains 20mg hyoscine butylbromide. It works by interrupting the messages that the brain sends to the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract which causes the muscles to relax. Unlike analgesics which only mask abdominal pain, Stomex reduces the cramps and spasms that cause the stomach pain.

Most hyoscine butylbromide products are available only as a 10mg tablet, which means that you have to take two tablets at a time up to four times a day. Stomex 20mg tablets are the same strength and contain the same active ingredient as Buscopan Forte* so you only need to take one tablet at a time, up to four times a day.
